Multiple validated scoring systems are available for predicting clinical outcomes in nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (AUGIB), including the Rockall score (RS), pre-endoscopy Rockall score (CRS), Glasgow-Blatchford score (GBS), and AIMS65 score. Investigators in Japan have now created another scoring system to predict the need for intervention in these patients.
Researchers retrospectively reviewed the records of 212 consecutive patients with AUGIB and compared patients who required endoscopic, surgical, or radiologic intervention with others.
