Background and Objective

These guidelines are an update from 2008 and use the new IDSA format of answering specific questions and employing the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation system. The guidelines address 98 questions, with a focus on managing invasive aspergillosis (IA), although all areas of the management of aspergillosis are covered.

Key Recommendations

• Hospitalized allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients should be placed in a protected environment to reduce mold exposure.
