Many depressed patients prefer psychological treatments, which often have longer-lasting effects than medication after its discontinuation. Behavioral activation (BA), an effective component of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), aims to get the inactive depressed patient to increase personally meaningful and enjoyable activities.
