Appropriate care of women with pelvic floor disorders (PFDs; primarily urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse), involves assessing how bothersome the symptoms are, providing education about the condition and its treatment options, and starting with the most conservative and least invasive management methods. Pelvic floor muscle therapy (PFMT) and pessaries are safe options that can be effective.
