Transition to college can be particularly challenging for adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as they must begin to manage their illness with reduced parental support in an environment of increased autonomy. To better understand these challenges, researchers conducted semistructured interviews with 10 second-semester freshmen with ADHD (mean age, 19; 30% female; all living away from home).
