Recent phase II studies showed the safety and efficacy of triple therapy with sofosbuvir (SOF; an NS5B inhibitor), velpatasvir (VEL; a second-generation NS5A inhibitor with a high barrier to resistance), and voxilaprevir (VOX; a next-generation NS3/4A protease inhibitor) in treatment-naive and treatment-experienced patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotypes 1–6 infection (NEJM JW Gastroenterol Oct 2016 and Gastroenterology 2016 Nov; 151:893 and 902).
