Unruptured intracranial aneurysms are often identified incidentally in neuroimaging tests. Although larger aneurysms have higher rupture risks that typically justify intervention, most aneurysms are small and have a very low risk for rupture. Some smaller aneurysms can grow, and such growth may be associated with higher rupture risk, so better predictors of aneurysm growth are needed to identify which patients require imaging surveillance and how frequent follow-up imaging should be.
