Information about treatment moderators or predictors of treatment response can be used to match patients to particular therapies. Whereas prolonged exposure therapy (PE) is commonly used for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) has only recently been shown to be effective; relaxation therapy (RT) may provide some benefit, with generally weaker effects.
