Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine was licensed as a three-dose series more than a decade ago; however, based on the vaccine's efficacy at 36 months, the recommended administration schedule was recently modified to only two doses for those who receive the vaccine before age 15 years. As durability of protection is critical (especially for preteens and young teens), investigators conducted a post hoc analysis of a Canadian phase 3 post licensure immunogenicity trial to evaluate immunogenicity of the quadrivalent HPV vaccine at 60 months in 101 girls aged 9 to 13 years who received either two or three doses of vaccine.
