Natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphomas are rare, highly aggressive, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive malignancies most frequently encountered in Asian countries. Although L-asparaginase-containing polychemotherapy regimens and radiation therapy for those with localized disease have improved initial responses, relapse is frequent, and established treatment approaches are lacking.
Investigators have now conducted a retrospective study of seven relapsed or refractory patients (age range, 31–68) treated with the anti-PD1 immune checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab (2 mg/kg every 3 weeks).
