Some genetic polyposis syndromes include FGPs in which dysplasia can occur; however, sporadic (non-syndromic) FGPs do not appear to have the same risk for dysplasia.
To determine if sporadic FGPs with dysplasia (FGPDs) are a marker for genetic syndromes and warrant genetic testing, investigators reviewed 25 cases of incidental FGPDs recorded in the pathology database of a single institution between 2004 and 2015.
During a mean follow-up of 4.4 years, patients underwent an average of 2.7 endoscopic procedures. After complete removal of the index polyp, there was no recurrence of dysplasia, although 80% of pati…
