NER1006: Lowest-Volume Bowel Preparation Ever?

An investigational bowel preparation for colonoscopy, NER1006, features two doses that differ in content (PEG3350 plus sodium sulfate first, followed by PEG3350 plus ascorbate salts — each in 500 mL and followed by another 500 mL water). In the current industry-funded phase III trial, researchers compared the safety and efficacy of NER1006 and trisulfate, a product based on sodium sulfate salts, comprising 3 L of total fluid intake.

Among 621 randomized patients, all receiving split doses, overall cleansing success was similar between groups (85%), as was polyp detection.
