Drug resistance accounts for a disproportionate number of deaths due to tuberculosis (TB). The use of later-generation fluoroquinolones, such as moxifloxacin and levofloxacin, may represent a step forward, but few data exist regarding their use and effect on mortality.
Now, investigators have analyzed data from a large, multisite prospective cohort study of 834 patients with active TB with suspected drug resistance.
