Young men who have sex with men (YMSM) have high rates of HIV acquisition. However, TDF/FTC preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP), one of the most effective preventive tools, is not approved for people younger than 18. Investigators in the Adolescent Medicine Trials Network (ATN) conducted two companion open-label studies to assess safety, acceptability, and tolerability of TDF/FTC in YMSM. In the first study, ATN 110, Hosek and colleagues enrolled 18- to 22-year-olds (J Acquir Immune Defic Syndr 2017; 74:21). Now, in ATN 113, Hosek and colleagues examine PrEP in 15- to 17-year-olds.
