Immunocompromised individuals, such as cancer survivors, are at excess risk for acquisition and persistence of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and subsequent progression to malignancy. In the U.S., HPV vaccination is currently recommended for all females aged 9 to 26 and all males aged 9 to 21 (or up to age 26 in men who have sex with men or are immunocompromised). In an analysis of data from a nationally representative survey, investigators assessed rates of HPV immunization in young cancer survivors (median age, 16) compared with those in the general population.
