Targeting the B-cell receptor (BCR) pathway with the Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor ibrutinib has proven highly effective for patients with relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma (R/R MCL). Now, investigators have conducted an industry-funded, multicenter, single-arm, phase II trial of the second-generation BTK inhibitor acalabrutinib (100 mg twice daily) involving 124 R/R MCL patients who had not received prior treatment with BCR or BCL2 inhibitors.
