For women who develop postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after vaginal delivery, administration of uterotonics, volume support, removal of retained products of conception, and repair of lacerations are commonly done before moving to invasive procedures such as exploratory laparotomy with pelvic vessel ligation, hysterectomy, or uterine artery embolization.
