Oligometastatic prostate cancer has been characterized in a variety of ways, including as an intermediate state of cancer spread between localized disease and widespread metastases and as relapsing prostate cancer with ≤3 metastatic sites. To date, much of the data regarding management of the disease comes from retrospective series using a number of different therapeutic approaches.
