What influences women's contraceptive choices? In this industry-supported study, researchers polled a nationally representative panel of women (age range, 15–50) about their initial and current use of prescription contraception. Of 5209 respondents, 3104 had used prescription contraception (1656 currently and 1448 previously); 103 women who had not used contraception but would consider future use were considered never-users.
Prior users were older than current or never-users (mean ages, 38, 30, and 26, respectively) and more likely to have been pregnant.
