Studies have had contradictory findings on whether intravenous thrombolysis with TPA is safe in patients who are receiving dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). However, patients receiving DAPT are frequently older and have higher rates of cardiac comorbidity and prior stroke. Therefore, additional data with less confounding is needed.
These investigators reviewed data from a 7-year period from the European multicenter Safe Implementation of Treatments in Strokes (SITS) registry, which has >95,000 patients.
