Although depression has been linked to inflammatory processes and chronic illnesses, only inconclusive evidence has emerged from examinations of potential antidepressant effects of medications commonly prescribed for these disorders. To ascertain associations between medication use and later depression, investigators examined Danish national registries covering all medication prescriptions and depression diagnoses from 2005 to 2015.
