Several late-stage studies are under way to test the role of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). However, these studies are predominantly targeting tumors with homologous recombination repair (HRR) mutations, which may be present in only 25% of patients.
