Treatment of patients with multiple myeloma that has progressed after lenalidomide and proteasome inhibitor therapy is challenging. To compare the activity and safety of adding the antiplasma cell monoclonal antibody elotuzumab to pomalidomide and weekly dexamethasone in this setting, investigators conducted an industry-funded, multicenter, randomized, open-label, phase II trial involving 117 patients with relapsed or refractory disease.
