Incidence of morbidly adherent placenta (MAP; placenta accreta, increta, and percreta) is on the rise alongside climbing cesarean delivery rates. Care of patients with MAP is usually concentrated in centers with multidisciplinary teams to address the inherent surgical complexity of these cases. Authors of a meta-analysis assessed risk for maternal delivery complications associated with referral to a multidisciplinary specialty team. The analysis covered 6 studies including 461 women who underwent cesarean delivery for MAP with care provided by a multidisciplinary team or with standard care.
