With an eye toward informing minimum training standards, researchers analyzed data from 37 trainees in 32 U.S. advanced endoscopy training programs to assess the number of ERCP and EUS procedures the average trainee requires to achieve competence. Instructors graded fellows using a validated tool during every fifth ERCP and EUS procedure.
