Persons living with HIV are at greater risk for many noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) compared with adults without HIV. Using data from NA-ACCORD, a large collaborative of North American clinical HIV cohorts, investigators quantified the contribution of traditional and HIV-related risk factors to the development of four significant NCDs: non–AIDS-defining cancer, myocardial infarction (MI), end-stage liver disease (ESLD), and end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
