For patients with acute ischemic stroke, the mantra of “time is brain” was first instituted during the thrombolysis era. Whether endovascular therapy (EVT) for patients with large vessel occlusion has the same dependence on time is less certain.
These authors analyzed data from the Get with the Guidelines–Stroke registry of the American Heart Association. During a 2-year period (2015–2016), data from 6756 patients (mean age, 69.5 years; 51% women) were available.
