Patients with multiple diminutive (≤5 mm) nonadvanced adenomas (NAAs) are an expanding group given the focus on increasing adenoma detection at colonoscopy, but do they benefit from the 3-year surveillance interval currently recommended regardless of adenoma size?
To address this question, researchers in Korea assessed the incidence of advanced colorectal neoplasia (ACRN) in nearly 10,000 persons (mean age, 46 years; 83% men) who underwent colonoscopy and resection of adenomas as part of routine examinations.
