Several distal colonoscope attachment devices are available for clinical use, and all are intended to flatten folds to increase mucosal exposure and hence polyp detection during withdrawal. There is uncertainty about whether new devices are as effective as currently available ones, and how they compare with one another. Two randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) shed light on these questions.
