I find myself very interested in the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) compared with moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT). Investigators from Austria examined how these two approaches affect platelet function in 82 men who were entering outpatient cardiac rehabilitation after an acute coronary syndrome that was treated by percutaneous coronary intervention (NCT02930330). The men were on dual antiplatelet therapy and reported no previous regular exercise.
