Professional organizations offer divergent recommendations with regard to age, modality, and frequency of screening for colorectal cancer (CRC). The aim of this guideline was to assess the 15-year benefits, burdens, and harms of CRC screening with annual or biennial fecal immunochemical test (FIT), a single sigmoidoscopy, or a single colonoscopy in individuals 50 to 79 years old with no prior screening. The guideline developers conducted a systematic literature review and microsimulation modeling.
