Standardized instruments can measure physiologic and psychosocial factors affecting sexual activity and satisfaction in postmenopausal women. But what do women themselves say? U.K. researchers reviewed free-text comments in a validated sexual activity questionnaire that was completed by >24,000 women participating in a population-based ovarian cancer screening trial.
About three quarters (78%) of participants reported having an intimate partner and half (49%) were sexually active (defined as intercourse within the past month).
