Hematologists are often involved in the care of adult women with heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB). In addition to managing iron deficiency, they assist in the diagnosis of a bleeding diathesis. However, the prevalence, predictors, and characteristics of bleeding disorders (BDs) in adolescents with HMB are unclear.
To address this knowledge gap, investigators conducted a multicenter, prospective, cohort study of 200 adolescents with HMB.
