Direct tests for HCV RNA or antigen turned positive about 2 months before antibody seroconversion in the IPERGAY trial.
Sexual transmission of hepatitis C virus (HCV) has been reported in men who have sex with men (MSM), including those receiving preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to prevent HIV acquisition. Now, investigators report the incidence, risk factors, and timing of diagnostic test positivity in MSM who acquired HCV in the IPERGAY PrEP trial.
