Endoscopic approaches have revolutionized the drainage and debridement of a variety of fluid collections, including pancreatic pseudocysts, walled-off pancreatic necrosis, and postoperative fluid collections (POFCs). Endoscopic treatment of these conditions is now first-line therapy. Historically, fluid collections have been allowed to mature for 4 to 6 weeks (or longer) before undergoing drainage.
