The ability to perform hysterectomies has long been regarded as an essential component of obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN); but does residency training currently reflect that priority? Researchers analyzed hysterectomy case log data submitted to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for OB/GYN residents who completing training between 2003 and 2018. Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies were quantified for the entire period; laparoscopic procedures were included after 2008.
