Multiple types of peroral cholangioscopes (POCs) are available for clinical use today. Early cholangioscopes required two operators (DOC), while most modern cholangioscopes can be fully operated by a single individual (SOC) through a duodenoscope, and some cholangioscopes can operate without a duodenoscope (direct POC).
