Endoscopic clip placement after resection of large (≥20 mm) nonpedunculated colorectal polyps, particularly right-sided ones, can decrease the rate of postpolypectomy bleeding and associated costs. However, large-polyp resections often require several clips, which are individually expensive ($150−$200), and these costs are not reimbursed by payers, potentially impeding broad clinical application. Using data from randomized trials and a recently developed decision-analytic model (Gastroenterology 2019 Nov 15; [e-pub]), investigators evaluated the maximum acceptable clip prices that maintain cost savings under different clinical scenarios.
