Adolescents commonly do not take their acne medications. To explore whether they would be more willing to take medication if they were told it was popular with peers, investigators conducted an online survey of eighty 18- to 19-year-olds with self-reported acne. Participants were randomized to be presented with clinical information about the medication either alone or along with a statement that the medication was “the most popular” among their peers and were asked to rate their willingness to take it.
