Dear Readers,
The 2019 novel coronavirus epidemic that has emerged from Wuhan, China, has been having a major health impact on a worldwide basis. Formerly called 2019-nCoV, the virus is now taxonomically termed SARS-CoV-2; the WHO has named the clinical condition COVID-19.
While we will continue our usual coverage of the latest infectious diseases' literature, the NEJM Journal Watch editorial boards are aiming to provide very rapid coverage of the latest research on the novel coronavirus. Our summaries and other relevant content are being posted on a special page on the NEJM Journal Watch website (https://jwat.ch/COVID-19) and also appear on the New England Journal of Medicine coronavirus site (https://www.nejm.org/coronavirus).
Our latest coverage includes a Clinical Conversations interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
