Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has been shown to improve neurologic outcomes for certain patients treated within 24 hours of stroke onset. However, there are no solid data on the optimal systolic blood pressure (BP) target for the 24-hour period following MT.
To compare outcomes associated with different BP goals during this period, investigators conducted an international retrospective study of 1019 evaluable patients with large vessel occlusion (mean age, 68 years) who underwent recanalization; 56% were pretreated with intravenous thrombolysis, and 55% achieved complete recanalization.
