As the COVID-19 crisis unfolds, some data regarding gastrointestinal manifestations of the infection are becoming available. Early reports noted that diarrhea was a common symptom in infected patients (NEJM JW Gastroenterol 2020 Apr 9; [e-pub] and Gastroenterology 2020 Apr 3; [e-pub]). A recent report from China is the first to evaluate pancreatic injury in the setting of COVID-19 infection.
Serologic test results are described in 52 patients hospitalized with COVID-19-induced pneumonia at a single center in China.
