There are growing concerns that the coronavirus pandemic has led to marked reductions in hospital admissions for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and other acute emergencies. These researchers conducted a retrospective study of consecutive patients admitted for an ACS at 15 hospitals in northern Italy from February 20, 2020, through March 31, 2020, and compared this study period with two others — the same period a year earlier and from January 1 until February 19 in 2020. The included hospitals were referral centers for primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
