Enthusiasm for the potential value of hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine in treating COVID-19 patients, and theoretical concerns about potential risk associated with angiotensin-converting–enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin-receptor blockers (ARBs), led investigators to use U.S. national pharmacy databases to identify prescription refill patterns for these and several other drugs classes for February 16 to April 25, 2020, compared with the same dates in 2019.
