Likelihood of migraine headache is influenced by circulating estrogen levels, but few prospective studies have documented migraine frequency throughout puberty. To address this deficit, European investigators enrolled 47 girls and teens (age range, 7–18) who had diagnoses of migraine headaches without aura that met International Classification of Headache Disorders II criteria. Participants completed daily headache and menstrual cycle diaries for 8 weeks.
