Lipodystrophy (both loss and gain of fat) is a common concern for patients living with HIV. Fat gain may be linked to some widely used antiretroviral drugs (e.g., dolutegravir and tenofovir alafenamide). Sarcopenia is often seen with aging and is associated with frailty. Since treatment options are limited, investigators evaluated the effects of an exercise intervention on body composition for sedentary persons aged 50 to 75 years, 27 with and 28 without HIV infection.
