Previous trials evaluating the utility of endovascular thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke have primarily focused on achieving functional independence. The modified Rankin Scale (mRS) is the most commonly used tool to rate this outcome. But there are other instruments available to assess quality of life that can provide a more granular view of patient outcomes.
