Research confirms the co-occurrence of sleep disturbance and psychosis, but the nature of this relationship is largely unknown. These researchers performed a qualitative literature review to analyze the connections among sleep disturbances, psychosis, and evidence-based psychological treatments across the spectrum of psychosis severity.
In a search for studies published since 2014, the authors identified 789 papers, which were narrowed to 58 papers based on exclusion criteria (e.g., postpartum psychosis; no specific measure of sleep disturbance in quantitative studies).
