Standard first-line chemotherapy for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer is FOLFIRINOX or the combination of gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. Pegvorhyaluronidase alfa (PEGPH20) is a recombinant human hyaluronidase that may degrade hyaluron in the extracellular matrix and potentially facilitate drug delivery to the tumor microenvironment. A promising signal of activity was seen by combining this agent with chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer tumors with high levels of hyaluronan.
