The few studies that have examined how parents make decisions for or against home ventilation have focused primarily on families that opted for it. In this qualitative study, researchers conducted phone interviews with 38 families from diverse geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds who had decided either for (53%) or against (47%) home ventilation in the prior 5 years.
Three major aspects of the families' decision-making processes emerged, listed here with the major takeaways:
